Zagreb Tourfilm Festival

The Croatian capital recently hosted the first Zagreb Tourfilm Festival - an international tourism film festival. First prize was won by the Polish tourist promotional video "Polska - Feel Invited". The Croatian Tourist Board promotional film "Ode to Joy" was awarded in two categories - the best promotional and the best Croatian tourist film in the ‘up to seven minutes in length’ category.

During the three days of the festival audiences could see 132 films from 37 countries. These are currently the world's best tourist films that talk about different aspects of tourist attractions - from the traditional promotion of tourist destinations, selective forms of tourism offers, hotels and resorts, culture and traditions, religious tourism, all the way to extreme sports as well as special forms of tourism attractions.


With this festival Zagreb joined CIFFTI – the International Association of Tourist Film Festival whose members are Warsaw, Los Angeles, Berlin, Riga, Karlovy Vary, Barcelos, Cannes, Veliky Novgorod and others. The Association is supported by UNWTO (World Tourism Organization), ETC (European Travel Commission), PATA (Pacific Tourist Organization) and CTO (Caribbean Tourism).
