CNN iReport, a part of the CNN website, has recently presented an interesting video clip about Dubrovnik and Croatia. A report under the name `Hey dad, here is a tie which comes from…` is based on a story about something that is usually given to fathers on Father`s Day in America.
Percy von Lipiski, one of the most awarded presenters on CNN and Jasna Đurković, the director of the cult Dubrovnik Hotel Excelsior, uncover the details form the glorious past of Dubrovnik, such as the story about Dubrovnik which in 1776, as an independent state, recognized the independence of USA.
The director of this famous hotel points out the Croatian origin of the tie, and presents the host with a cravat that has Dalmatians - dogs that originate from Dalmatia - drawn on it. It was this gift precisely that inspired the presenter to tell the story of the cravat and uncover the beauty of Dubrovnik and Croatia to viewers from around the world.
The report was filmed on the terrace of Excelsior hotel, from which an unforgettable view stretches on to Dubrovnik and the old city core.
CNN has already reported on Dubrovnik`s hotel Excelsior a few times. This year in February, it was included on the prestige CNN list of the `top ten sweetest places in the world for Valentine`s Day`.
